sieht so aus, als müsse ich doch nicht noten lernen und als könne man facebook instant articles jetzt oder demnächst auch bei apple machen, als blogger, als verlag, als veröffentlicher. apple nennt das news publisher:

sich selbst als „publisher“ und seine RSS-feeds kann man bei apple bereits anmelden, das apple news format ist angekündigt als eine art POSSE-dienst:

hört sich an, als gäbe es neue optionen fürs indieweb.
Aber das soziale Netzwerk ist interessant. Nicht nur, weil Apple vor Jahren mit Ping schon so heftig auf die Schnauze gefallen ist. „Connect“ bietet Künstlerinnen und Künstlern die Möglichkeit, jegliche Arten von Inhalten bei Apple Music einzustellen. Videos, Texte, Bilder. Das betrifft nicht nur die Musiker, die bereits einen Plattenvertrag haben, sondern auch solche, die gerade erst anfangen. Apple verfolgt hier also ein ähnliches Prinzip wie Tidal mit dem „Discovery“-Service.

mal was ganz anderes. ich hab jetzt ein paar mal videos auf wirres.net mit nem nativen html5-video-attribut eingebunden. für videos die nicht loopen und autoplayen sollen, nehm ich das mediaelementjs, dass relativ zurückhaltend bedienelemente und einen flash-fallback liefert. aber die loopenden und automatisch abspielenden videos binde ich jetzt immer nativ ein (auch weil das mediaelement nach jedem loop ein buffering-symbol anzeigt). das scheint bisher niemanden gestört zu haben und scheint prima zu funktionieren (beispiel).
jedenfalls frage ich mich: warum wird das native html5-video-ding so wenig genutzt, obwohl es doch von fast allen browsern unterstützt wird. ist das codec-gedöns immer noch so kompliziert oder kann mittlerweile fast jeder das .mp4-codec abspielen?
