das ist die ver­schrift­li­che ver­si­on ei­nes vor­trags von maciej ce­głow­ski über die gren­zen des wachs­tums (mei­ne wor­te). wahr­schein­lich das bes­te und loh­nens­wer­tes­te le­se­stück dass man die­se wo­che fin­den kann. es geht dar­um, wie­so flug­zeu­ge sich in den letz­ten 60 jah­ren kaum ver­än­dert ha­ben, war­um wir in der zi­vi­len luft­fahrt nicht mit über­schall flie­gen und wie die zu­kunft des webs aus­se­hen könn­te und soll­te. und wenn ich jetzt den schluss­satz zi­tie­re, könn­te man sich fra­gen: was zum teu­fel hat das mit luft­fahrt zu tun? das fin­det man dann erst nach dem klick raus.

The web we have right now is beau­tiful. It shat­ters the ty­ran­ny of di­stance. It opens the li­bra­ri­es of the world to you. It gi­ves you a way to bear wit­ness to peo­p­le half a world away, in your own words. It is full of cats. We built it by ac­ci­dent, yet al­re­a­dy we'­re ta­king it for gran­ted. We should fight to keep it!
