I really love the fact that someone who worked for someone else quietly and modestly drew out the design of this lovely waiting room one day, then went home for tea and probably didn’t even mention it over their beef and two veg. And then, ninety-odd years later, there are still people marvelling at their work and contorting themselves around lampposts to get good photos of it. I bet they never knew what a monumentally good day at work they’d had that day.
